Breast Milk Soap

Are you a breast feeding Mum with a surplus supply of milk?Is it stacking up in the freezer?Not sure what to do with it? Why not turn it into soap! (Well let me do that for you!) Want to know more? What you need to provide: 200ml of breastmilk per batch (approx 1.5kg of soap/15-20 bars) What I do:All of my soaps are handmade through a cold processed method which means I mix sodium hydroxide (lye) and melted oils. This reaction creates heat which we don't want to add milk to otherwise it will burn!I have learnt that the most effective way to retain as much goodness as possible in the end result by stopping the milk from overheating is to:1. Prepare my soap the night before (mixing lye & water and melting the oils) and allowing both to completely cool down2. Adding the milk right at the end (once the saponification process is well underway and just before I pour it into the moulds). The soap is made with olive, coconut, almond and avocado oil and organic shea and organic cocoa butter. If need be, I can alter these oils to suit your requirements - benefits of ordering a batch just for your whanau! Turnaround time is 5-6 weeks as soap needs time to cure before being ready to use.
